Because great design is about more than how a space looks.
It’s about how it feels to live in it.

Bold Strategies | Bold Spaces

At Type A Decor, I want your home to feel like your home—to reflect who you are and how you live. That begins with listening, understanding what matters to you, and helping you make confident decisions.

Quality, craftsmanship, and comfort guide my selections. Through trade-only sources, bespoke options, and antiquing, I bring distinctive finds together with pieces you already love.

From narrowing the choices to bringing the details together, I take the time-consuming research and sourcing off your hands, creating a home that feels personal, comfortable, and thoughtfully considered.

Thoughtful interiors. Personal by design.

who we are

Get to know ME

Hello, I am Marietta Daniel—founder of Type A Decor. This didn't start with a five-year plan or a Pinterest board. It started with grief, a move to Virginia, and a pair of custom gray drapes. After losing my husband, I rebuilt my life—one room (and one bold design choice) at a time.

Now? I help others do the same, offering personalized service and expert guidance in creating spaces that tell your unique story.

Hello, I am marietta

The face behind Type A Decor

Bespoke Interiors. Thoughtfully Yours.

Personal design begins with understanding you—how you live, what you love, and what makes a space feel like home.

I listen closely, guide you through the decisions, and bring together furnishings, lighting, color, and textiles to create a space that feels comfortable and distinctly yours.

My services include full-service interior decorating, custom window treatments, and furniture and décor sourcing. Through trade-only vendors, bespoke options, and antiquing, I find distinctive pieces that complement the things you already love—saving you time and helping you choose with confidence.

For renovation projects, I also offer construction project management, helping coordinate the work and keeping you informed throughout the process.
